Basil having a panic attack on our drive from Chicago to Denver. He hasn’t left the city in 2 years and he had a busy day taking little walks by lakes, bridges and gardens and marking his territory over the 1,000 mile stretch.

My name is Emily Caldwell and I'm a photographer for Polite in Public as well as compulsively shooting on my own. I grew up in England and all over the US and perhaps as a result, I have an affair with being on the move. This blog follows me as I try to spend one year on the road. I often post using my iPhone, but I prefer to put up real photos when I can. I see the road ahead, but I don't know where it will take me. It's the not knowing where I'm going that compels me to travel it.
